What it is

What is the Gangnam Style AI video?

The Gangnam Style AI video puts you and two friends into PSY’s horse-riding dance: in front of a snowy mountain and a dark castle, each of you dances up to the camera in turn, then all three ride the invisible horse together. The most-watched version is a Burmese one posted on October 21, 2026, three dancers in gold, green and pearls taking turns at the lens, and it passed 2.8 million plays.

The dance is from 2012, when PSY’s Gangnam Style became the first YouTube video to reach a billion views. Fourteen years later the Gangnam Style AI dance spread across TikTok in several languages; here the three dancers are you and the two friends from your photos, each in the clothes from their own photo.

Gangnam Style AI: which photos to use

A Gangnam Style AI dance takes one group photo of you and up to two friends, or a photo each if you prefer. You go in the middle and comes right up to the lens, so your face has to be sharp; each friend dances alone for a few seconds, then everyone dances side by side. Everyone keeps the clothes from their own photo, so a hoodie or a work shirt in front of a castle is half the joke. Waist-up or more with faces front-on works best.

  • Sample photo: a young woman with dark curly hair in a green hoodie and joggers, standing, face clearly visible

Works

  • One adult in each photo, alone
  • Waist-up or full length, so the clothes come through
  • Face clear and front-on, hair visible
  • Daylight or a bright room, no heavy filters

Skip

  • A group photo where the faces are tiny
  • Sunglasses, hats or faces turned away
  • Photos of celebrities or public figures
  • Children, or anyone who has not agreed

Fixes

If your Gangnam Style AI video looks off

Three dancers: when something looks wrong, it is usually one of the photos.

  • A friend does not look like themselves

Each photo has to show that one friend alone, front-on and sharp. A small or blurry face leaves the AI guessing; use a closer, clearer photo and make it again.

  • We ended up in the wrong places

The first slot comes up to the camera, the second dances first, the third second. Put the photos in the slots you want and make it again.

  • Our clothes changed

Everyone wears what they wear in their photo. A close-up of a face leaves the outfit to the AI; use photos down to the waist or more.

  • Someone has a crown or pearls on

The dancers in the original wear headdresses and pearls. If they show up on one of you, use a photo where the hair is clearly visible and make it again.

  • A photo will not upload

Use a JPG, PNG or WEBP. iPhone photos saved as HEIC sometimes will not open in a browser; take a screenshot of the photo and upload that.

  • The video did not render

If a render fails, the credits go back to your balance on their own. Add the photos again and press the button once more.

Gangnam Style AI video FAQ

How do I make the Gangnam Style AI video?

Add one group photo of you and up to two friends, or a photo each; pick landscape or portrait, tick the box and press the button at the top of this page. When it is ready, download it and post it with the AI label on.

Do I need an app or a Gangnam Style AI effect?

No app and no filter. The Gangnam Style AI effect on TikTok is a video made from photos, and this page makes it in your browser.

Can I make it with just one photo?

Yes. Add only yours, and two strangers in everyday clothes dance your friends’ parts. A sibling, a parent or a coworker in the other slots makes it funnier.

Can I use one group photo of the three of us?

Yes, that is the default: add one photo of the three of you. Left to right, it becomes the first friend, you, then the second friend. Faces need to be clear; if everyone is small in it, switch to A photo each.

Can I put celebrities or PSY in it?

No. Every photo has to be you or an adult who agreed, and photos of celebrities and public figures are not allowed.

Can my kids do it with me?

No. Photos of anyone under 18 are not allowed. Make one with two adult friends instead.

What happens to our photos?

They are used only to make your video and are deleted as soon as it finishes rendering, whether it worked or not. The finished video waits in My videos for you to download; it is never shown anywhere on this site, and nothing you upload is used to train models.

Why was a photo refused?

Use a JPG, PNG or WEBP. iPhone photos saved as HEIC sometimes will not open in a browser, so take a screenshot of the photo and upload that. If a photo is very large, it is made smaller for you before it uploads.
